Mechikaburahas immense firepowerthanks to its capacity as both a tank and a nuke. Unfortunately, Mechikabura ends up dishing out less than what he can reliably pull off with villain teams, due to his few Link options.
9Single-Minded Offense Super Saiyan Vegeta
True to hisnature as the Prince of Saiyans, Single-Minded Offense Super Saiyan Vegeta is a powerhouse in his own right. HisFinal Bullet Attack (Super ATK)boosts his ATK and DEF while dealing supreme damage to a target, while hisBoiling Rage (Passive)allows him to stack his ATK and DEF while acquiring Ki Spheres.

True to his name, this SSJ Vegeta iteration is a decent damage-dealer, packing a lot of heat with his abilities. This makes him an excellent tank with hard-hitting capabilities, perhaps hindered only by lackluster boosts until the third turn.
8Explosive Evolution Turles
Goku lookalike Turles wants to raise the Tree of Lifeto attain supreme power, and finally does so in the game via Explosive Evolution Turles. HisMeteor Burst (Super ATK)isn’t just a huge damage dealer, but may even stun enemies. In a pinch, hisUniverse Destroyer’s Ace In The Hole (Passive)can trigger an ATK boost for allies and ATK debuff for enemies.
Turles shines as an excellent tank/support with his toolkit. Not only can he stack DEF, but he can also trigger multiple heals and stuns in combat. Unfortunately, his performance lacks consistency due to the chance limitation on his Passive, as well as its 3-turn limit. His useful Links are also limited to a few characters, severely limiting useful builds.
7Fate-Changing Messenger Trunks (Teen)
When Fate-Changing Messenger Trunks arrives in the anime, he reminds theZ Fighters to train in advanceprior to the arrival of the Androids. Unfortunately, he lacks the characteristic ATK and DEF benefits of Prepared For Battle, making him significantly lackluster until the fifth turn. Additionally, the transformation bonus of his Active Skill is almost always locked behind a tricky 6-hit attack requirement.
6Captain’s Ace In The Hole Captain Ginyu
Captain Ginyu of the Ginyu Corps serves as the venerable leader of the Ginyu Force during the Frieza Saga, being one of his most trusted lieutenants. InDokkan Battle, heis one of the best AGL tanks. HisMilky Cannon (Super ATK)is capable ofboosting his DEFwhile damaging an enemy immensely at the same time. Moreover, hisTrue Value Of The Force (Passive)gives him immense boosts to ATK and DEF whenever he’s in a team with other Ginyu Force members.

Captain Ginyu is a great tank with decent hard-hitting abilities, and his DEF stacking is an effective way of ensuring survivability in critical moments. Unfortunately, his reliance on fellow Ginyu Force members makes Ginyu a one-trick pony. Even among them, only Burter can maximize Ginyu’s toolkit.
5Observance Of Pride Super Saiyan God SS Vegeta
When Vegeta finallyachieves his Super Saiyan God form, he becomes a powerhouse to contend with the likes of Goku. This unit is a great representation of this apex form. HisGamma Burst Flash (Super ATK)both damages a target greatly while diminishing their DEF, andStimulated Pride (Passive)provides him with extra attacks that may give him a chance to evolve.
True to his nature, this Super Saiyan God Vegeta form is an excellent tank and heavy-hitter, and his Links allow him to team up with others quite easily compared to others. However, his Passive only gives a measly chance of transformation, potentially hindering his combat potential in crucial moments.
4Ultimate Life Form With Immense Power Cell (1st Form)
Prior toPerfect Cell’s absorption of the three Androids, Imperfect Cell remains a force to be reckoned with due to his ever-evolving nature. HisSpecial Beam Cannon (Super ATK)not only causes immense damage to a target, but does so while boosting his ATK and DEF. True to his nature, Cell’sApproaches (Passive)boosts his ATK and DEF whenever he has an aggressive approach in combat. This becomes even more effective once he absorbs Android 17.

This form of Cell has an impressive toolkit that makes him not just an effective tank, but also a heavy-hitter. Not only that, but his transformation condition is turn-based, making him a worthwhile 3-turn investment. His only limitation would be survivability, as he reaches his best performance upon the third turn.
3True Ultra Instinct Goku (Ultra Instinct)
When Goku finally perfects Ultra Instinct, hisTrue Ultra Instinct Gokumakes him one of the deadliest beings in the multiverse. HisPerfect Instinct (Super ATK)andSupreme Kamehameha (Ultra Super Attack)not only deal devastating damage, but also increase the chance of a critical hit. Meanwhile, hisStrike Of Fury (Active)may allow him to cause ultimate damage to enemies, with a high chance of activation at low HP.
True to how the anime depicts the character,Goku in his Ultra Instinct Formis possibly one of the best tanks and heavy-hitters in the game. His Active Skill conditions are easy to accomplish, and his high defense can help him withstand attacks that normally would KO others. However, his team compositions are a bit demanding, as “Godly Power” archetypes work with him best despite their few numbers.
2Roar Of Resentment Frieza (Full Power)
WhenGoku lets Frieza goin their first fight, Frieza feels nothing but contempt in this gesture, prompting his first real death at the hands of the Super Saiyan. This is reflected in the arrival of Roar Of Resentment Frieza, whoseFierce Hand-To-Hand Battle (Super ATK)and Full Power Death Ball (Ultra Super Attack)already make for devastating boosted attacks.
This Frieza iteration boasts an incredible toolkit, making him a tank that dominates combat. His Links that rely on Goku-haters would find a home with the majority of the villains in the game, making him easy to build teams with. Unfortunately, this unit becomes a glass cannon around the sixth turn, demanding quick plays.
1Apex Of Supreme Saiyan Power Super Saiyan 4 Goku
Prior toDragon Ball Super, Super Saiyan 4 Goku was arguably themost powerful form of the characterto date. This is reflected in the game through this iteration of Goku, which serves as perhaps the best AGL unit in the game. HisMeteor Smash (Super ATK)andKamehameha (Ultra Super Attack)deal massive damage and buff his defense, making him capable of withstanding devastating blows.
Meanwhile, hisVictory Will be Mine! (Passive)isn’t just remarkably strong for his ATK and DEF boosts per Ki Sphere obtained, but also in how this boosts his odds of dodging Super ATKs. If anything, this character is only limited in how he works best with “Goku’s Family” archetypes.
