For most of the past decade or so, there has been a significant overlap betweenThe Sims 4andDragon Ageplayers, and one among them has managed to recreate the companions from BioWare’s fantasy saga inThe Sims 4. Though the character creator inDragon Age: Originsleft a lot to be desired, even at the time, both franchises have since established a reputation for having a powerful toolset to create one’s in-game avatar, withDragon Age: Inquisitioneasily having the best character creatorin any BioWare title.
Yet as fun as it may be to play the Hero of Ferelden, Champion of Kirkwall, or Herald of Andraste, one of the most famous and most appealing aspects of theDragon Agesaga comes from its colorful cast of characters – the player’s party members, in particular. From the haughty Morrigan, Witch of the Wilds, to the WaywardMagister of Tevinter, Dorian Pavus, these memorable companions have left a strong impression on fans of theDragon Agegames.

The recreations found traction on Twitter as well, where formerDragon Ageproducer and director Mark Darrah retweeted them.
Though it’s tough to create a Qunari under the constraints ofThe Sims 4’s character creator, the resemblance between the recreated versions of Morrigan and Alistair stand out as the most uncanny by far. One also can’t help but admire the effort in recreating a Mabari War Hound using the pet designer tools inThe Sims 4, as the results almost match the original.

WithThe Sims 5in early testing, andDragon Age: Dreadwolfreportedly aiming for a late 2023 release, both franchises are approaching their next chapter. Based on what Electronic Arts was willing to divulge on the direction of theSimssequel, the focus on customization inThe Sims 5might allow players such as Pocketpeanuts to recreate their favorite characters from other games with even more depth and accuracy. By the timeThe Sims 5comes out, players will likely be introduced to the cast of characters inDragon Age: Dreadwolf. Though not much is known about the companions of the fourthDragon Ageat this time, players should expect marketing for the BioWare title to kick off very soon.
