Change is on the horizon withDestiny 2. While Bungie continues to keep fans updated on its plans to transform many elements of the game next season and beyond, the studio moved incredibly quickly this past week to makebig adjustments to the Felwinter’s Lie quest. Pushing players to complete Seraph Tower events as a community, Bungie seemed to overestimate how quickly players would complete this, ultimately lessening the difficulty and significantly increasing progression rates to help get step one done faster.

In a longer term view of the game, Bungie also revealed how it plans to change gear infusion and loot. Part of the infusion process included adeeper dive into weapon and armor sunsetting, a controversial topic that is likely going to divide most players. Next season will also see the introduction of special rewards that allow players to influence what kind of item they get from it in an effort to replace Weapon Bounties. Much of it was left vague due to Bungie not being ready to talk about the next season, but players will be able to focus what sort of rewards appear from these special engrams.

Where is Xur?

Over the next few days, players can find the exotic salesman hanging out in his typical cave on Io.

Fast travel to Giant’s Scar and immediately head through the building into the area with the large drill in the center. Head left through the gate and follow the edges of the zone to the top left corner of the map where Xur is hiding in a cave.

Class Armor

Keep in mind thatthe Armor 2.0 updatehas caused Xur’s items each week to mirror the rolls players get from pulling these items from their own Collections. As it stands, players should likely hold on to their shards if they already own the following items. Players can use the Fated Engram to pull something a little different if nothing in his inventory is appealing this week, including newer exotic items.

Here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:

Claws of Ahamkara - Warlock gauntlets

The Claws of Ahamkara is melee focused exotic armor and hasn’t been up for sale in quite a while. Its intrinsic perk is called The Whispers, and it grants one extra melee charge that players can utilize.

It may not be the best or most exciting exotic gear out there, but it’s pretty useful. While it ultimately may not replace the top tier options available for Warlocks, having an extra melee charge is never a bad thing for most game modes especially in the Crucible. It’s worth a purchase this week for those who don’t have it.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

The Sixth Coyote - Hunterchest armor

Nearly on month later, theseDestiny 2: Forsakenexotics, are back in stock. This armor comes with the Double Dodge intrinsic perk which basically gives players a second dodge. As such, this exotic armor is subclass neutral, meaning it can synergize with any Hunter subclass making it a viable option regardless of play style.

While the perk may not be particularly flashy or unique, getting a second dodge is pretty useful in all game modes ofDestiny 2. With Marksman’s Dodge equipped, players would be able to automatically reload their weapons twice or refresh their melee ability twice with Gambler’s Dodge.

Dunmarchers - Titan leg armor

Dunemarchers are available for purchase this weekend. Linear Actuators increase the player’s sprint speed and also builds up a static charge. When using a melee attack on an opponent, the charge is released and chains damage to all nearby enemies.

Ultimately, these are a fun exotic to mess around with though their actual utility may vary from person to person. Still, they’re worth picking up for those who don’t have them as they can cause some pretty big damage when paired with certain Titan subclasses likebottom tree Strikeror middle tree Sunbreaker.

Exotic Weapon

Following last week’s ironic offering of the Hard Light, this week brings back the D.A.R.C.I. sniper rifle. The intrinsic perk known as Personal Assistant gives the player access to critical information like health and distance when the scope is aimed at an enemy. Synchronizing with that is the exotic trait Target Acquired, which activates when Personal Assistant is used. Essentially, it gives the weapon better target acquisition and deals significantly more precision damage.

At one time, this sniper was once regarded as one of the best snipers in the game alongside Whisper of the Worm. While it’s no longer that, it’s still a solid choice and definitely worth it for those who are still working on the Revoker quest. It’s able to put up some big damage so players who don’t yet have this weapon should feel comfortable about picking it up.
