Bungie recently hosted aDestiny 2showcase that focused mainly on the Witch Queen expansion, but also what’s coming in the new Season of the Lost, kicking off in the looter-shooter today. Bungie is making some changes to the Trials of Osiris PvP experience inDestiny 2Season of the Lost, adding some long-requested features that should greatly please fans of the notoriously challenging game mode.
Destiny 2is upgrading the Trials of Osiris by adding an anti-cheat system as well as matchmaking. The lack of Trials of Osiris matchmaking in the past has made the mode completely inaccessible to someDestiny 2players, making it impossible for them to unlock some of the rewards or complete all of theSeasonal Challenges. Adding matchmaking to Trials of Osiris should rectify those issues, and it will definitely be interesting to see how the community reacts to it.

The high stakes of theDestiny 2Trials of Osiris matcheshas resulted in some players cheating to get ahead. The anti-cheat system should combat those problems, theoretically resulting in a fairer Trials of Osiris across the board. It remains to be seen how it will all play out in practice, but fans won’t have to wait too long to find out.
Meanwhile, Bungie is also sweetening the pot when it comes toDestiny 2’s Trials of Osis rewards. Previously,Trials of Osiris rewardswere basically only doled out to winners, but now players will get rewards for winning rounds as well. While it may still be incredibly difficult for someDestiny 2players to win entire matches in Trials of Osiris, winning individual rounds is a much more realistic endeavor, so they will at least be getting something for their efforts, even if they fail to go Flawless.
All things considered, these changes should go a long way in opening upDestiny 2’s Trials of Osiris to more players and make it more interesting to those who normally wouldn’t touch it. And thanks toDestiny 2crossplay, also being introduced with Season of the Lost, those who have friends on other platforms will be able to play the Trials of Osiris together as well, which should also help make it a more appealing prospect to all Guardians.
One has to wonder howDestiny 2may change the Trials of Osiris in future updates as well, like with theWitch Queen expansionand beyond, but for now fans can focus on Season of the Lost.
Destiny 2is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
