Destiny 2’s 30th Anniversary adds a ton of new content to Bungie’s popular looter-shooter, including some weapons based on the company’s past games. A number ofHalo-themed weapons have made their way intoDestiny 2through the 30th Anniversary celebration, including a pair of swords that each look like one half of an energy sword fromHalo.Destiny 2The Other Half and Half-Truth swords have proven to be popular in the community for their usefulness and looks, but a glitch arguably makes The Other Half look even cooler.
Reddit user leofungo recently encountered a visual glitch inDestiny 2while viewing The Other Half sword that gave it a much different look. Typically,The Other Half Sword inDestiny 2has a purple look to reflect its Void damage output. However, the glitch shared by leofungo shows The Other Half colored black instead, almost making it look like the Darksaber weapon from theStar Warsfranchise.

For the uninitiated, theDarksaber is lightsaber-like weaponwith a black blade. It first showed up inStar Wars: The Clone Wars, but more recently was seen in the popular Disney+ showThe Mandalorian. It definitely looks similar to this glitched version of The Other Half, but unfortunately forStar Warsfans, this look for the weapon isn’t permanent and is simply a temporary visual glitch.
Destiny 2players interested in getting The Other Half will need to play the Dares of Eternity mode that was added to the game as part of the 30th Anniversary. The Other Half is a random drop thatDestiny 2players can get for completing Dares of Eternity sessions, plus it can also be obtained fromXur’s Treasure Hoard, where players can open chests using Treasure Keys. Treasure Keys can be earned through Dares of Eternity as well as purchased.
TheDestiny 2Other Half sword has proven to be difficult for some fans to get their hands on, especially when compared to its Half-Truths counterpart. It seems likeDestiny 2players aren’t having that much trouble getting their hands on Half-Truth, whereas The Other Half is a much rarer drop. All players can do is keep going through theDares of Eternity modeand unlocking chests until they get lucky enough to get the sword.
In the meantime,Destiny 2fans seem impressed with this alternate look for The Other Half, and with the popularity ofThe Mandalorian, maybe Bungie could one day add a proper Darksaber-style weapon to the game.
Destiny 2is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
