Summary

ADestiny 2player has recreated an internet horror icon by making their Guardian look like the creepypasta character Slenderman using items from the game’sDungeons & Dragonscrossover armor set. The character still has its usualDestiny 2design schemes, of course, with its sci-fi armor details, but it does manage to include the character’s trademark black tendrils coming out from his back.

Slenderman is a household name when it comes to internet culture, having first appeared in a creepypasta story over a decade and a half ago and becoming immensely popular thanks toa series of indie horror video games. Thanks to the newDungeons & Dragonscrossover that added a bunch of themed armor pieces and cosmetics toDestiny 2, the character’s legacy has expanded once again to a game some fans may never have expected.

Destiny 2 Tag Page Cover Art

Reddit user Feckel shared their creation to the r/DestinyFashion subreddit, which is a dedicated community forDestiny 2players to show off their Guardians' attire, with a screenshot of their character donning the spooky outfit. Even thoughSlenderman is normally seen wearing a suit and tie, items whichDestiny 2does not currently feature, the costume serves as an adaptation of the character that fits within the game’s aesthetic.

Destiny 2’s Newest Collaboration Made the Slenderman Costume Possible

Users in the comments quickly praised the outfit, with some even saying they would be scared to encounter the player in PvP since he is too intimidating to fight, and others simply want to make the outfit themselves. Luckily for them, the user’s screenshot included the names of every item used to create the set, many of which come from the game’s recentDungeons & Dragonsthemed armor setthat was released as an official collaboration with the RPG franchise.

The items required to make the set are as follows:

The Spectral Displacer Cloak and Rat King’s Crown are both available inDestiny 2’sin-game marketplace the Eververse as part of its limited-timeD&Dcrossover for purchase with Glimmer, the game’s premium currency. The rest are attainable through gameplay by various means, with some being dropped after playing one of the game’s many raids or eliminating specific enemies and can likely be interchanged with similar items.

TheD&Dcrossover rolled out in the midst ofDestiny 2’sThe Final Shapeexpansion, which released earlier this month and brought a ton of new content to the game, including all-new subclasses and endgame raids. It also serves as the ultimate finale to the series' ongoing saga, but developer Bungie has confirmed that it will not mark the end of the game, as new content and continued support is still planned for the future.
