To get Sharp Flavors,Destiny 2players simply need to kill enemies with swords. However, this material seems to work a bit differently, considering that multiple kills might yield a material that corresponds to the sword’s element, rather than Sharp Flavors.
As for Balanced Flavors, a great way to get them is to use a rather fast-firing weapon that uses Primary ammo, which is infinite, whereas using sniper rifles might be less efficient because they use Special ammo.
