Summary
Zenitsu Agatsumais the mentee of the former Thunder Hashira Jigoro Kuwajima, and a demon slayer who has accompanied Tanjiro and Inosuke in their adventures after passing the Final Selection. He has fought in some crucial missions for the Demon Slayer Corps, and has either single-handedly, or with his comrades, vanquished dangerous adversaries like the Tongue demon, Spider demon (son), Enmu, Gyutaro, and Daki.
Despite his inexperience,Zenitsu has already been a valuable additionto the Corps. However, he struggles with some serious personality and combat skill issues that continue to hold him back. If he manages to conquer them eventually, Zenitsu just might turn out to be the greatest Thunder Breathing user to have ever lived, but until then,he has a few significant weaknesses.

5Cowardice And Low Self-Esteem
Demon Slayers undoubtedly have the toughest jobs, as any mission they are enlisted for could turn out to be their last. In some cases, they also face the threat of serious injury that could lead to a premature retirement. Since the stakes are always so high, the combatants who join theDemon Slayer Corpsmust be willing to face the worst at any moment.
In such an environment, where the threat of death looms over people’s heads at all times, someone like Zenitsu who whimpers and cowers when even the thought of demons crosses his mind, may not seem like an ideal ally to bring along on difficult missions. However,it’s noteworthy that, despite having a limited skillset, Agatsuma has perfected his techniques to the point that he can pose a serious threat to most demons. It is often hislow self-esteem and cowardicethat stands in the way of exploring his fullest potential at times.

4Impatience With Training
Because Of His Restless And Timid Nature, Zenitsu Barely Trains
In the Demon Slayer Corps, members frequently go through rehabilitation training after they return from their missions. For newer members of the corps, these training sessions are immensely beneficial, as they accrue long-term, combat-relevant knowledge and experience. Despite their incredible value,Zenitsu frequently tries to avoid training. In mamny instances, he is more interested in finding a partner than in the training itself.
Zenitsu’s lack of dedication and impatience towards training seems odd, especially since his friends Tanjiroand Inosuke often try to give their best. It highlights his unserious approach to learning and his deep-rooted aversion to hard work. In an ancient organizationlike the Demon Slayer Corps, where combatants frequently put their lives on the line to fight demons, Agatsuma’s approach seems unprofessional.

3Poor Strategic Thinking And Overreliance On Sheer Power
Zenitsu Is Not As Good As His Peers Tactically
Zenitsu Agatsuma is specialbecause of his proficiency in using Thunder Breathing First Form: Thunderclap and Flash. Since it serves as the foundation for the other six standard forms, it is extremely hard to master. However, expertise in the First Form grants users some serious offensive power. Having access to them allows Zenitsu to overpower his opponents in one-on-one combat.
Zenitsu’s strength is impressive, but it becomes a bane for him, as it gives him the freedom to overlook tactical advantages in a battle. His fighting style is over-reliant on sheer power and, sincehe is a poor strategic thinker, it makes him vulnerable in a direct confrontation with an experienced demon.

2Inability To Manifest A Demon Slayer Mark
Tanjiro Is The Only Demon Slayer (Apart From Hashiras) Able To Manifest A Mark
Early in his journey as a demon slayer, Zenitsu crosses paths with Tanjiro Kamado and his sister, Nezuko. The duo immediately become inseparable friends and embark on a long journey to eradicate demons from the world. Despite undergoing identical paths, Tanjiromanifests a Demon Slayer Markwhile fightingUpper-Rank Four Hantenguin the Swordsmith Village, while Zenitsu never does.
The Demon Slayer Mark significantly enhances the strength, speed, and healing capabilities of the user. It’s noteworthy that Tanjiro is the only demon slayer who is not a Hashira, but has still manifested the Mark. This demonstrates thatZenitsu’s failure to achieve this rare featdoes not make him an outlier. Yet because he thrives in the final confrontation withMuzan and his underlings, someone as talented as Zenitsu not manifesting a Mark is disappointing, since he never reaches his true potential.

1Stalled At A Partial Mastery Of Thunder Breathing
Despite Being The Former Thunder Hashira’s Disciple, Zenitsu Could Not Fully Master Thunder Breathing
Before taking the Final Selection,Zenitsu Agatsuma trained under the watchful eyesof Jigoro Kuwajima. Because of his timid and undisciplined nature, the Former Thunder Hashira had a tough time conditioning Zenitsu physically and psychologically for the tough selective process of becoming a demon slayer.Jigoro remained steadfast and devotedto his duty as a mentor, and encouraged Zenitsu to focus on what he was best at. His philosophy and teachings had far-reaching consequences.
Zenitsu honored his mentor’s guidance and, through relentless training, masteredThunder Breathing First Form: Thunderclap and Flash. He then went on to introduce new variations to it and pushed it to the extreme during his missions. Agatsuma is also a proficient user of Thunder Breathing Seventh Form: Honoikazuchi no Kami, but it’s noteworthy that Thunder Breathing has seven forms, andZenitsu has not learned to use the other five. Although he has mastered the toughest techniques that the Breathing Style has to offer, his partial mastery of the swordsmanship style makes him predictable.
