Demon Slayerhas taken the anime world by storm with the tragic plotline of main character Tanjiro and his demon sister Nezuko, who fight to avenge the massacre of their family. Now, an exciting new collaboration is underway between the popular franchise and Japanese phone company au.
The collaboration will include a series of Instagram AR filters that will make anyone look like their favorite Hashira from theDemon Slayeranime and go through different breathing techniques. To announce the awesome new filters, au made a commercial with Japanese star Ryunosuke Kamiki, who is known for his voice work as BohinSpirited Awayand Taki inYour Name.

The commercial shows three school students who are trying out the app and debating what breathing technique and Hashira fit their personalities the best. Kamiki is shown on a smartphone acting out a fighting sequence withthe Demon Slayerwater breathing technique backgroundsbehind him. It has not been announced whether or not this exciting new series of filters will be available for fans in the United States or outside of Japan.
The collaboration comes amidst a wave ofDemon Slayer mania. The anime series has grown strikingly since its debut in 2019 and has already had a number of collaborations and features. Outside of the incredible Universal StudiosDemon Slayerexperience, themed rides, and restaurants,Demon Slayerhas also collaborated with a coffee companyalong with numerous apps and merchandising companies.
The series has also gained an outstanding fan base that has shown their appreciation forDemon Slayerin nearly every way imaginable. Fans have put together beautiful cosplay recreations of main characters likeTanjiro’s demon sister Nezukoand smaller characters like the creepy and tragic Spider Mom. Other fans have put together YouTube videos and recreations, pieces of art, and craft projects like phone cases.
Demon Slayeris certainly one of the most-watched new anime series and already deserving of being considered a modern classic. Currently,Demon Slayerhas released one season of the anime and one feature-length film. Fans are awaiting the release of the second season, which premieres on December 5th in Japan. The franchise also recently announced a season to follow up theMugen Trainfilm calledDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc TV, which will premiere on October 10th. Fans certainly have their handful with releases from this franchise.
