What Is The Meat Cleaver
The Meat Cleaver is a large hammer weapon. They are particularly good at taking on heavily armored enemies and will break guards, break shields, and drain the enemy’s stamina. Large hammers have good range but players have to ensure they are prepared for their slow and heavy attacks so they don’t miss or get attacked while stuck in their attack animation.

What makes the Meat Cleaver special is that it deals slashing damage despite being a hammer weapon. Each time it hits opponents it steals 1% of their HP as well, keeping the player healing as they deal damage. It’s quite durable and has two damage bonuses which make it even more useful.
How To Acquire The Meat Cleaver
Blacksmith Ed won’t transform any items into unique weapons like the Meat Cleaver without first being given a Searing Demon Soul. The only way to get this soul is to defeat the Flamelurker, a boss that is located in The Tunnel City. Once that soul is given to Blacksmith Ed, players just have one more soul to track down.
As the Meat Cleaver is the weapon of the Adjudicator, it requires its soul to be created. Players will have to go to the Island’s Edge and take down this boss to gain the Swollen Soul. Once acquired, they may return to Blacksmith Ed to change one of their weapons into the Meat Cleaver. These weapons can be used in its creation:
