Updated July 25, 2025, by Christopher Norman Worcester:With the release of the 2.0 and Phantom Liberty updates, CD Projekt Red has introduced several changes into Cyberpunk 2077. This update will confirm that the process of obtaining the pet cat remains the same, and will also add a video guide to ensure players have the best information available.
Cyberpunk 2077takes place in thedystopian and futuristic Night City.The massive map is filled with all sorts of secrets and easter eggs waiting to be stumbled into. In betweengunfights with street gangsand story missions players can rest in V’s apartment located at the H10 Megabuilding in the Watson District.
This apartment is more customizable than the others and features a few secrets of its own including a pet cat named Nibbles. This fun little bonus is not mentioned in any mission logs or marked on the map, so it’s very easy to miss. Use this guide to find the pet cat for V’s apartment.

Finish Playing for Time
To find the cat players must have played through the prologue, the Heist, and the short missionPlaying For Time.This mission is the conversation with Takemura at Tom’s Diner. Once players have completed it, they are allowed to explore the open world of Night City more freely.
Find the Empty Bowl
When exiting V’s apartment head immediately to the left down the hall. On the right is a decrepit alley with adumpsterand asmall bowlplaced in front of it.
Pick up the Shard
Players need to find and pick up the shard among the garbage titledFeed Teh Cat.The note says to fill the bowl with cat food to attract the cat.
Find Cat Food
Cat foodis a very common food item found throughout Night City. Players should first check their consumables tab in the backpack as they may already have looted some without realizing. If the player doesn’t have any they will need to buy some.
Go to the Vendor at Kabuki Market
While many food vendors sell cat food around Night City, the closest to the apartment is located at Kabuki Market to the north of the apartment building. Look for the nearby fast travel station or do ‘The Gift’ side missionthat is given by T-Bug during the early stages of the game. The cat food itself is very cheap, and the player only needs one to complete this.
Place the Cat Food in the Bowl
Return to the bowl and there will be a prompt indicating the player to place the food down. The player can go do a mission or sleep in bed at the apartment to pass some time. Waiting around 12 hours will be more than enough to get the cat to show up.
Return to the Alleyway
If enough timehas passed Johnny Silverhandwill notice the cat when players go back to the alleyway. Walking towards it will transport players to the apartment with the cat in a little bed next to the player’s sleeping quarters. This unlocks the pet cat for the apartment and forthe game’s photo mode.Simply activate photo mode and look for Nibbles in the options to pose them along with V.
Unfortunately,Nibbles the Catwill only be available in V’s main apartment, which is the first apartment they obtain after completing the prologue.
