Summary
AFortniteplayer was able to get back on their feet by themselves after being knocked down and nearly reaching zero health. InFortnite’sbattle royale gamemode, 100 players land on the same island, and only one player or one team will be able to make it out alive. In solo matches, players are instantly eliminated if their health reaches zero. However, if they’re playing duos, trios, or squads, they will be knocked down, and their teammates will have the opportunity to revive them.
Players only have a limited amount of time to revive their teammates inFortnitebefore they are taken out of the game for good. Once someone has been knocked, their health will decrease by 2 HP per tick. This will come to a halt if a teammate approaches them and starts the revival process. So, if they aren’t able to help in time, they will be eliminated about 50 ticks in and won’t be able to return to the match unless one of their teammates reboots them.

A member of theFortnitecommunity has shared an impressive clip on the game’s subreddit, in which they defy all odds and are able to be revived without any help from their teammate. Reddit user imalonexc was downed, and since their teammate wasn’t able to help them in time, they had to find a way to help themselves. Even though they were about to reach 0 HP, they were able to get to aMending Machine, and purchase two Patch Up services. Then, they hired the Mecha Team Shadow NPC at Riviera Station, which then proceeded to revive them.
Many fans praised imalonexc for their cleverness, as their quick thinking was what was able to save them. However, more factors came into play here, because not only was this player extremely lucky since they had an NPC and a Mending Machine nearby, but also because the NPC was smart enough to revive them. Unfortunately, many of thecharacters gamers can hire inFortnitetend to glitch quite often and will simply ignore a downed teammate instead of trying to help them get back up.
When Chapter 5 Season 1 started, quite a few NPCs caused problems, so Epic Games had to turn off the option to hire them. Thankfully, thelatestFortniteupdatefixed this issue, and gamers can now hire all sorts of characters and specialists to aid them during a match.
