In May, Accelerate Games announced the return of a video game franchise that many expected would never see the light of day again.Toy SoldiersandToy Soldiers: Cold Warwere not only going to be remastered and re-released in HD, but a full sequel was also in development namedToy Soldiers 2: Finest Hour. Before developer Signal Studios gets to the sequel, however, theToy Soldiers HDremaster comes first. Luckily forToy Soldiersfans, the team is ready to shareToy Soldiers HD’s quickly approaching release date.
In a new trailer forToy Soldiers HD, publisher Accelerate Games and developer Signal Studio confirm that the remaster will launch on June 18, 2025. Platforms that will be supported at launch include the PlayStation 4,Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via the Steam storefront. The release date announcement does mention pre-ordering forToy Soldiers HD, but considering it will only be available digitally, fans might just want to add it to their wishlists.

Those who have been following the development ofToy Soldiers HDsince it was first announced earlier this year will notice that the game’s new release date differs from what was previously announced. As recent as June, Accelerate had announced thatToy Soldiers HDwould be arriving in August. As such, today’s new release date announcement does constitute a delay, albeit a short one. No reason for the delay was mentioned, and can likely beattributed to the pandemic, scheduling, or logistical issues.
As for the big question that’s sticking out inToy Soldiers' fans' minds, there’s been no word regardingToy Soldiers 2: Finest Hoursince it was announced. At this point, it’s perhaps safe to assume thatToy Soldiers 2’s development will come after the release ofToy Soldiers HD. The lack of news regarding the sequel could also imply that the game’s development is entirely dependent on the success ofToy Soldiers HD.
Toy Soldiers HDwill deliver the exact kind of package thatToy Soldiersfans would expect from a typical remastered bundle. It’ll feature bothToy SoldiersandToy Soldiers: Cold War, as well as DLC packs like the sci-fi Invasion! and The Kaiser’s Battle.
