Call of Duty: VanguardSeason 2 is still a few days away, but Zombies fans can actually hop into the new content a bit sooner. With some of the Season’s biggest additions being requested for some time now, manyCall of Duty: Vanguardfans are making use of the early access trick.
Similar to other major seasonal updates, gamers can pre-load the patch so that they are able to play as soon asCall of Duty: VanguardSeason 2kicks off. However, with the content already downloaded, and simply being locked behind a time gate, the new additions are available to all players who download the update. While they will need to wait until February 14 to play the new content with others online, an offline solo match allows gamers to access everything that has been added.

ConsideringZombies’ extensive Season 2 Roadmap, there is a lot for players to try out if they download the update and play the game offline. Unsurprisingly, many have gone straight to the Ray Gun, with the iconic Wonder Weapon finally being added to Zombies. Redditor krisyarno shared gameplay of the Wonder Weapon being used, with the weapon dividing the community. While many are happy with the way it sounds and looks when fired, others are disappointed with how weak the weapon is in the high rounds.
Alongside theRay Gun, Zombies fans have gotten some looks at the three Pack-A-Punch Camos that will be available in Terra Maledicta. As always, each is tied to a Pack-A-Punch tier, with all being different colors of a base design. The design in question features cracks all across the weapon, and its first variant is yellow. The second is green and purple, while the final version is red. Overall, most seem to find the camo design solid, as it suits the map’s location.
By downloading the update and playing offline, players can even accessCall of Duty: VanguardZombies’ first main quest. Unfortunately, this is an area where the entire community seems to be disappointed. Redditor Mesho-ksa1 shared that the easter egg has already been solved, and apparently it only takes ten minutes to complete. There is no boss fight at the end, either, with the quest resembling more of a side easter egg than the main quests of older maps. Given how long it took for an easter egg to be added, the simplicity of the new quest is understandably frustrating.
Withthe Zombies fan baseso divided on the Season 2 content, player may want to jump in early to decide for themselves how they feel about the additions. With the process to access the new Zombies features being so simple, fans should have no problem diving in.
Call of Duty: VanguardZombies is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
