Call of Duty: Vanguardrumors are beginning to pick up steam, and one of the latest suggests that a popular map will be used in the new game. Specifically, the nextCall of Dutycould feature a return of London Docks fromCall of Duty: WW2.

Recently,Call of Duty: Vanguardwas described asCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War2.0by the reputable insider Tom Henderson. The game will supposedly be lacking on the multiplayer front. Specifically, there will be no new features, with any ambitious ideas cut during the game’s development. Re-using old multiplayer maps lines up with this idea, and withCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Wardoing this in its post-launch Seasons, the “2.0” description lines up.

The London Docks information comes courtesy of well-known leaker @TheMW2Ghost, and they claim that the map will be coming to the game as post-launch content. Specifically, it will be dropping during one of the game’s first two Seasons. This once again lines up withCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, as that game also launched with original maps. Once the DLC Seasons started, though,Call of Duty: Black Ops 2map remakesbecame a lot more prevalent. The same thing may be happening here, withCall of Duty: Vanguardpulling fromCall of Duty: WW2.

Back when rumors aboutCall of Duty: Vanguard’s troubled developmentbegan to spread, some mentioned that the game was reusing many assets fromCall of Duty: WW2. Given that the 2017 game shares a setting and still looks impressive visually, this decision makes sense. London Docks was also one of the few new maps to truly become a hit with fans, as players preferred it over the sniper-filled Gustav Cannon and the messy Flak Tower. Still, it will be interesting to see if otherCall of Duty: WW2maps, like USS Texas or Ardennes Forest, make a return.

While London Docks was popular due to its solid mix of ranged play and close quarters action, @TheMW2Ghost seems to have teased something more exciting. According to the leaker, the game will be getting a World War 2-themed version of a “fan favorite” map from a “very iconic” entry on the series. While this could be from any game, as there have been a lot of popular entries in the series, it should be exciting to see a classic map with a fresh coat of paint. WithCall of Duty: WW2already doing this viaa remake of Shipment, fans have an idea of what changes could be made.

As is usually the case with theCall of Dutyfranchise, developer Sledgehammer Gamesseems to be leaning heavily on nostalgia. Hopefully, the gameplay around these remakes is strong enough to keep fans engaged.

Call of Duty: Vanguardis rumored to be releasing this November for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
