Like with previous seasons, it was thought that once Season 1 concludes on May 28, 2025, Season 2 would start right away on June 02, 2025, but with the statement by Activision, Season 2 will not be starting until July 17, 2025. “More needs to be done,“Call of Dutywrites in the new status report. “We will use this additional development time to deliver updates, including optimizations to gameplay, game balancing (…), tofix game stability and bugs, and to ensure and overall level of polish to improve the experience.”
Activision provides more information on the fixes as the article continues. It specifies that the fixes will be platform specific, as opposed to general solutions that can be applied across all hardware variations.
Ultimately, Activision promises a greater level of transparency and communication with players, stating, “Going forward, you may expect to hear from us more often regardingCall of Duty’s state of play.” This seems to be a continuation ofActivision’s earlier apology regarding the state ofCall of Duty: VanguardandWarzone Pacific.
While this delay will likely allow many of the game’s bugs to be resolved, it should also give Activision time to work with its employees after the ongoing mistreatment reported by many. AformerCall of Dutydeveloper spoke outover Activision’s lastCall of Dutyapology, blaming the game’s current situation on the company’s inability to properly lead and help its employees. Hopefully Activision takes advantage of this time so that in another couple of weeks, there isn’t another apology briefing in the timeline.
