Ever since it was introduced in the originalCall of Duty: Black Ops,One in the Chamberhas proven to be one of the more popular game modes in theCall of Dutyfranchise. It’s popped up in subsequent games now and again, and looks to finally be making its debut inCall of Duty: Modern Warfarethis week.
Activision confirmed thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewill be getting One in the Chamber this week through its “This Week in Call of Duty” post. In theCall of Duty: Modern Warfareversion of One in the Chamber, each player begins the match with a single bullet in a random weapon (as opposed to older versions of the mode that just used a pistol). Players can get an additional bullet by killing an enemy player. Players have three lives to get the highest score possible before the match ends.

One in the Chamber is expected to come toCall of Duty: Modern Warfarein the Tuesday, June 16 update. It’s possible that the update will see more playlists added or some removed, but that wasn’t confirmed in the blog post. More likely than not,Call of Dutyfanswill need to wait for the patch notes to have the most complete idea of everything that’s been changed once the update goes live.
In the meantime, the new blog post doesn’t really indicate much for theWarzonebattle royale. It touches on the Warzone Rumble mode, which was introduced late last week, and encourages players to check it out. This seems to indicate thatWarzone Rumblewill remain inCall of Duty: Warzoneeven after the June 16 update, which is a decision that may not be well-received by members of the community.
Many fans seem to dislike Warzone Rumble, especially since it was added in place of the more popular game modePlunder. Infinity Ward has indicated that Plunder would be coming back toWarzone"soon," and many assumed that meant the next update. However, the blog post makes no mention of Plunder, specifically calling out otherWarzonematch types like Solo, Duos, Trios, and Quads instead, and so fans shouldn’t hold their breath.
Overall, the June 16Modern Warfareupdate doesn’t sound like it will be all that extensive, but that makes sense.Modern WarfareSeason 4just launched last week, adding multiple new maps and more to the game, and so fans likely weren’t expecting another huge content drop so early. The full scope of what it will entail will become apparent once the update goes live and the patch notes are released.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
