The weapons inCall of Duty: Modern Warfareare based on real-life versions used in militaries across the globe. Although they often change names and brands for copyright reasons, they still hold true to the core advantages and disadvantages of each weapon. This is part of what givesModern Warfareits realistic gunplay and powerful loadouts.
One fan on Reddit wants more. They have designed their own weapon ideas that are more than just reskins or off-brand versions of real-life guns.These custom weaponsmight be only in the fan’s imagination, but they could have the potential to be added intoModern Warfare.

The first gun suggested is the SR-25, a unique Sniper Rifle that has a two-shot kill capability. It would offer high rates of fire but reduces player’s movement speeds, the idea being to have something in between theMarksman Rifle and Sniper Rifle. The fan included a list of standard attachments that would help change the range, velocity, movement speed, and other details of the weapon. None of the suggestions change damage, which seems to assume that the weapon would include high damage by default.
The second gun is the HK G3, which is similar to theFAL but with an increased rate of fire. The gun does not include headshot capabilities but does have a higher range of damage for torso shots. It would be similar to the FAL, but have enough distinction to separate it from the other assault rifles.
Fans immediately questioned the SR-25 in the comments of the post, pointing out that the weapon would not be able to balance recoil. This would mess up any chance to hold a high rate of fire as the recoil would continue to cause the gun to kick up and need to be recentered. Many fans thought that although the weapon was good in concept, it would have ahard time competing with the Dragunov.
As for the HK G3, the gun has a ton of potential. The FAL is already a highly popular weapon so anything similar would be welcomed by the game’s community. If the HK G3 started with a full-auto option, then it would bridge the gap between the semi-automatic FAL and the rest of the assault rifle options.
