Two images were shared to Reddit by artist 120Derp120 of the popular operator. The character model looks painted and is set against an interestingModern Warfarenight-operation-themed backdrop. She has the standard night-ops gear and while the details of her outfit seem blurred there is a glossy beauty to the entire piece. Fans are not the only ones that appreciate the art as Infinity Ward developer and member of their Art team Artpeasant commented “Nice work” on the piece. To gain developer approval shows an extreme level of skill to this dedicated fan’s contribution tothe world ofCall of Dutyart.

In the comments, players are mixed with reactions between disbelief and approval. While many fans compliment the work and love the unique art style, with some players even making requests as to the next piece, others have a more skeptical eye.

The art looks like it could be painted, but some fans are calling foul play claiming that it is a filter applied to an operator screenshot. References to 120Derp120’s earlier work are made and many players wonder as to the process that went into making this unique piece.

120Derp120 is more than happy to share their methodology as they explain that they did indeed start with ascreenshot ofModern Warfare’sRoze. Due to their inexperience with digital work, they redrew the character using paint and then reapplied the redrawn version onto a default background. The effect is astounding, but it does give a strange sense of filter usage at first glance.

Despite criticism, the one thing that can not be disputed is the compliment from a member of Infinity Ward’s team. That praise is held highamong theCall of Dutycommunityand shows an exceptional level of skill and work for this dedicated fan.
