A comparison of jump shots and bunny hops betweenCall of Dutytitles has shown thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2has a bunnyhopping problem.Bunnyhopping inCall of Dutyhas always been a viable option during gunfights, but some aren’t happy about how it plays in the current game.
Season 3 ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2has unfortunately done very little to stop the criticism of the game recently. There are still plenty of fans frustrated with the state of the game, especially after the originalCall of Duty: Modern Warfareset expectations so high for Infinity Ward’s return. The studio has been updating the game constantly since its release, even bringing back weapons and maps from past games to try and win the community over. It hasn’t completely worked out for the developer yet, with many wondering if it’ll ever be on par with the 2019 original.

The video was posted to Reddit by user Minddrill, and compares 2010’sBlack Ops 1, 2011’sModern Warfare 3, and 2022’sModern Warfare 2. The clip shows that bunnyhopping around is now a much more viable strategy in the new title. In previous games, jumping while aiming down sight completely halts momentum, with the player moving extremely slowly when showing it off. In the newer title, they barely lose any momentum at all. It speeds up the gameplay, but the footage from the older games just looks much less frustrating for opposing players to deal with.
In the thread itself, feelings were overall mixed on the situation. At this point, theCall of Dutyfan base has players with a wide variety of experience. Some will have started playing over 15 years ago, while for someCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2will be their first-ever time with the franchise. In this environment, the developers have an almost impossible job, as expectations for everyone are wildly different on what makes a goodCall of Dutygame, and it becomes hard to please everyone. For example, whilesomeCall of Dutyfans are angry about microtransactions, for others it will simply be the norm if they started playing recently.
Infinity Ward remains committed toreleasing updates forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and there’s definitely still time to win players over. At the moment, the game is about halfway through a typicalCall of Dutylifecycle, and with rumors suggesting thatCall of Duty 2023will be a continuation of theModern Warfareseries, fans could be receiving content for the game for a long time to come.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
