The confirmation happened over on ResetEra. One fan managed to get a hold of an Activision Art Lead in a thread pertaining to newly released information onRatchet and Clank: Rift Apart. The fan asked the lead if thePlayStation 5 version ofCall of Duty Black Ops Cold Warwould take advantage of the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers, and the lead confirmed that it would.

Sony has described thePS5 controller’s featuresin length at this point. The adaptive triggers supposedly allow players to feel the tension of the game as they play. It makes the player feel resistance when pushing down on the shoulder button, and as a result, it simulates pulling an actual trigger. The feature is pretty much tailor-made for long-ranged weapons in video games.

IfCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waris taking advantage of adaptive triggers, it will likely also take advantage of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback. This feature essentially causes the controller to pulse and vibrate in unique ways depending on what kind of situation the player finds themselves in-game.
