Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Wars' ongoing Alternate Reality Game continues to progress, with the latest revelation leading to somethingBlack Opsfans will be particularly excited about. With the discovery of the latestBlack Ops Cold WarARG web page, three teaser images for the game’s Zombies content have been found. TheBlack Ops Cold WarARG continues and much remains to be shared regarding Zombies, but at the very least anxious fans now have something to consider.
TheZombies teaserimages that have been revealed show dramatically different things. The first image shows a graphic pile of bodies, most of which have blood spread on them and appear to be wearing soldiers' uniforms. The second image shows a handheld device that looks half like a Geiger counter and half like a walkie talkie. Odds are it’s more supernatural in nature than it looks. The third image is much more familiar, showing two zombies with glowing eyes running toward a soldier. One zombie is wearing a uniform and dropping what looks like a gun. These zombies look very much like they could be Nazis.

All three images come from the same recently unlocked ARG-related website named Pawn Takes Pawn. The ARG, to the chagrin ofCall of Dutyfanswho enjoy participating on their own, is being solved by a variety of partnered Youtubers and online personalities. The ARG officially started in early August and since then the Pawn Takes Pawn has been updated over 20 times, though the most recent version of the site has only been used this past week.
What’s especially interesting is that this won’t be the last update to the ARG. The website now has a message saying, “Explore ZORK now to secure the keys. Return at 12PM EDT – 9/28 to unlock the next step.” Given that ARGs tend to slowly escalate and the surprisingly thin amount of content shared today, thenext ARG updateprobably won’t be massive but it should be worth checking out.
Given pastCall of DutyARGs related to Zombies modes, these puzzles typically culminate in the full reveal of whatever plans the development might be working on. This typically involves a full trailer along with all manner of other information. WithCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warreleasing mid-November, there’s still plenty of time left for teasers. It may be weeks yet before that trailer eventually is shared.
As for what thisCall of Dutyiteration’sZombiesmode might be, there are a lot of theories. Some guess that it might be a remake of one of the olderBlack OpsZombies modes. Some think it might be a reboot, since the previous story arc may have completed. Zombies fans will likely be happy just to have new puzzles to complete.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warreleases November 13 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
