The arrives asCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarBeta moves into its final weekend. Feedback from the first weekend led to several updates that allowed Treyarch to make much-needed changes to the game’s files. Among those changes is the reduction of speed to sliding and the shortening of slide duration.

This change was implemented as a way of countering the slide exploit, asplayers were beginning to rely on the sliding mechanic as a means of travel. In its previous state, the slide mechanic provided faster movement than the standard run speed, which resulted in many fans simply sliding across the map.

WhenCall of Duty: Modern Warfarelaunchedit had a similar reaction to sliding. If players are given the option, they tend to always choose the fastest means of travel, even if it is the result of a bug. Still, it is good thatCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warhas patched the sliding mechanic before it impacts the full release of the game.

There is a lot more that was adjusted in the recent patch.Weapon balancing was a prominent aspect of the patch, as many of the guns required small tweaks for them to perform within developer expectations. Attachments, Field Upgrades and Equipment all received slight adjustments as well, as they did not perform like expected.

The end of the patch notes gives some easy workarounds for known PC issues, as the developers were not able to implement fixes into the game yet. These workarounds are slight setting adjustments that may make the game experience more fulfilling.
