Bungie revealed the latestDestiny 2collaboration, but their new partner is not what some players expected. Bungie often teams up with other franchises to offer additional content forDestiny 2players, whether through collaborations or crossovers, but this upcoming one doesn’t seem to convince players.
Over the past year, Bungie has been expanding the universe ofDestiny 2with crossovers with other popular games. In August 2022, theDestiny 2xFortnitecollaborationmade Commander Zavala, Ikora Rey, and Exo Stranger appear in Epic Games’ battle royale. The latestDestiny 2crossover dates back to September 2022 and saw skins based on the Hunter, Warlock, and Titan fromDestiny 2appear inFall Guys.Destiny 2’s Season of the Seraph brought various items inspired byAssassin’s Creedin Bungie’s FPS, with several ornaments players could get for free.

In a new video published on Weibo, Bungie announced that severalDestiny 2elements will appear inArknights, a free-to-play tower defense mobile game. This collaboration will bringDestinyskins inArknightsthrough a story collection event, but no additional details were announced to this date. WhileArknightsis popular in South-East Asia, mainly in China and Taiwan, it remains fairly unknown to Western players who seem disappointed to have anewDestiny 2crossoverwith a game they never heard of. Fans ofArknightsreceived the news more joyfully, as they will soon have access toDestiny 2skins within their favorite mobile game.
WesternDestiny 2players were puzzled by this announcement, hopingBungie would announce a collaboration with another major franchisesuch asWarframeorBorderlands. EvenArknightsplayers seemed surprised by this crossover, wondering howDestinyskins will fit in this popular gacha game.Arknightspreviously featured outfits from other popular games, such asRainbow Six Siege,The Legend of Luo Xiaohei, andMonster Hunter, offering players new sets of tactical armor that look like iconic characters from these franchises.
While this collaboration won’t impactDestiny 2players, they can still look forward to new elements coming soon to Bungie’s FPS. The Season of Defiance is coming to an end, with theSeason of the Deep going live soon after. Bungie is lettingDestiny 2players decide which one of three exotic weapons will be getting a new ornament through a community vote, while players criticize the developer for their lack of communication regarding the most recent patch notes.
