After starring in films likeGeorge of the Jungle,The Mummy, andJourney to the Center of the Earth, the actor all of sudden disappeared from the Hollywood scene. In a 2018 profile from GQ, the actor opened up about what he was going through and how that shaped his career. Fraser noted that during his absence, he changed homes and went through a divorce, all of which molded and shaped him in ways he was unprepared for until actually experiencing those events. In addition to his role in Scorsese’sKillers of the Flower Moon, Fraser has also joined the comedy titledBrothers. The film, which is currently in production, is being helmed byPalm Springsdirector Max Barbakow.
As of lately, though, his on-screen presence has been felt by many. In addition to appearing in the main cast ofDC’sDoom Patrolas Robotman, Fraser joined co-stars Don Cheadle and Benicio Del Toro in Steven Soderbergh’s recent crime thriller,No Sudden Move, which premiered on HBO MAX this past June. The period crime thriller film was written by Ed Solomon and followed a group of criminals who are brought together under mysterious circumstances. Fraser looks to continue his hot streak, as he’s also been added to the award-winning directorDarren Aronofsky’sThe Whale. Aronofsky is known for revamping Mickey Rourke’s career in 2009’s Oscar winnerThe Wrestler. So, perhaps working with these acclaimed filmmakers will put Fraser on the fast course back to superstardom, although long-time fans of his work would argue that the man behindGeorge of the JungleandEncino Mannever truly left the hearts of moviegoers.
