A new trailer from PlayStation provides a welcome update onBramble: The Mountain King, introducing newcomers to the game’s premise and revealing a release date of Jun 02, 2025 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Though the trailer makes no mention of the fact, the game is also due to reach the PC, Switch, and Xbox platforms. Imagery offered in the latest trailer evokes fond memories ofBrothers: A Tale of Two Sons. That classic indie game released nearly a decade ago and continues to inspire creative efforts within the medium. Gamers and critics alike respond well in general to stories about average, relatable heroes doing great things in the face of overwhelming odds, andBramble: The Mountain Kingseems set to scratch that same itch.
The release date trailer introduces a young boy who has woken from a nightmare. He is, in the words of the narrator, “Frightened by his mother’s bedtime story.” His frightened state leads the lad to crawl out his bedroom window and venture into a terrifying world draped in darkness and populated by horrific monsters. If nothing else, the game will at least tell the tale of another young hero facing overwhelming odds in a world that wants to end him.
