Mackenyu Maeda did a fantastic job at bringing this beloved character to life, and he did it with such swagger that he immediately became one of the show’s favorites. Zoro’s unique three-sword style looks incredible in the live-action, and while his main goal is to become the world’s top swordsman, Mackenyu and otherOPLAcreators did an excellent job at showcasing this complex character’s every side.
7Young Zoro
Some ofOPLA’s most inspiring and heartbreaking scenes were thanks to Young Zoro. While there are plenty ofeaster eggs inOne Pieceand some things were changed compared to the original story in the manga, Zoro’s deep friendship with Kuina, and it affected him stayed the same. Fans could learn about Zoro’s backstory and get to know this mostly stoic character in a different way.
While it was clear from the beginning that Zoro wanted to become the world’s greatest swordsman, the reason behind his actions only became clear later. Zoro’s journey as a warrior took a tragic turn when his close friend, Kuina, suddenly passed away. This pivotal moment inspired Zoro to carry on their shared dream and not stop until he was the greatest.

6Buggy’s Circus
There are plenty ofstrong devil fruitsand terrifying pirates inOne Piece, and fans could meet one of the fan favorites right away in season one, Buggy The Clown. While Buggy is a terrifying and evil character, thanks to his schemes, fans were able to see not only Zoro but also Luffy and Nami in action.

These were some of Zoro’s funniest scenes too, and showed viewers that The Straw Hat Pirates are truly a different kind of pirate crew. Thanks to these unforgettableOPLAmoments, viewers could see that Zoro is not only a great fighter but can keep his cool under pressure.
5The Busted “Toilet”
While Zoro might not be one of the quirkiest orfunniest characters inOne Piece, he still has his laugh-out-lout funny moments, too. One of his most hilarious ones was when he, Luffy, and Nami were traveling with their first stolen small ship, and Zoro accidentally busted the toilet.
The first problem seemed to be that there was no toilet on that particular ship, but then the crew soon realized that their ship was slowly sinking and had to find its way to dry land before it did. WhileOne Piece’s world can be dark at times, it’s also filled with adventure and hilarity, and these light-hearted scenes help lighten up the mood between more emotionally charged moments.

4Baroque Works Invitation
Netflix’s live-actionOne Pieceis filled with beautiful locations and epic battles, and one of its best is during the time when Zoro gets invited to join the Baroque Works by Mr. 7. If it wasn’t enough that he disturbed a quiet and sacred moment, but he also tried to force Zoro to join their notorious organization by force.

It was the first time that viewers could not only see Zoro’s implacable fighting skills but also get to know him more as a warrior who isn’t willing to sacrifice his commitment to his own path. Zoro effortlessly defeated Mr. 7 and made it abundantly clear that he wouldn’t be swayed by the promises or threats from any organization.
3The Bar Fight
Zoro was never afraid to face some of thestrongest characters inOne Piece, but he isn’t just a good fighter but a protector who would stand up against injustice and bullying. Fans could see Zoro’s protective side when he visited Shells Town with the head of Mr. 7 in a bag to collect the bounty from none other than Captain Morgan, AKA Axe-Hand Morgan.
However, things don’t go smoothly since, at the local bar, he gets into a fight with the marines after a kind-hearted little girl offers Zoro some special food she made. However, a marine rudely pushes the girl, causing her to drop the meal onto the floor. Naturally, Zoro stepped in and demanded an apology from the marine, which led to an epic bar brawl.

2Zoro VS Mihawk
Zoro fearlessly challenges Dracule Mihawk, one of theSeven Warlords of the Sea, to a life-and-death duel in order to fulfill his dream and promise to become the world’s greatest swordsman. While the two had an epic fight at the Baratie, which was both visually impressive and inspiring, it led to Zoro’s defeat and near death.
During the intense battle, it became clear that while Zoro is an honorable warrior, he’s not capable of defeating Mihawk. However, his bravery and spirit impressed the feared Warlord, who decided to spare Zoro’s life until he is ready to face him again.

1Luffy & Zoro’s First Fight
One Piecefans know all aboutZoro’s best swordsand his unique style, and while he had many epic battles, the one when he and Luffy faced the Marines and Axe-Hand Morgan the first time in Shells Town is still one of his bests.
This scene wasn’t only beautifully choreographed and highly entertaining, but it was also the first time that he revealed his formidable three-sword fighting style. This iconic encounter set the stage for their many adventures together and marks the beginning of an enduring friendship between the future Pirate King and the world’s greatest swordsman.
