Summary
While there are literally hundreds of Hot Wheels cars out there, the ones that many people were most obsessed with as kids were the monster trucks. These behemoths were instantly recognizable for their exaggerated wheels, which are always much bigger than the body of the car itself, making fora striking design that really makes them stand out. Luckily, developer Milestone hasn’t forgotten about these unique vehicles and has included quite a few of them in their latest fast-paced arcade racer,Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged.
As would be expected from a monster truck, all of these cars are able to hold their own during a race, but their large stature also makes them a real force to be reckoned with in the Elimination game mode. There are a few monster trucks inHot Wheels Unleashed 2that have much better stats than some of the others, with some even being considered among the best cars in the entire game.

55 Alarm
The 5 Alarm is essentially a fire truck mixed with a monster truck design, and it features a bright red color palette, which is complemented by a flame streak pattern stretching across the body of the vehicle. There’s also a miniature gray ladder resting over the top to finish off the look, and because ofhow amazing the graphics and attention to detail arein the game, it really does look exactly like the small plastic ladders that would often be seen in Lego sets and other toy boxes.
In terms of stats, the 5 Alarm is more or less an all-rounder, but it does still have very good acceleration for a monster truck, which is usually late to the party due to how slow it can be. It also possesses pretty decent handling, which means it can still find its way around some of the more obscure tracks, such as theMini Golf Course, fairly easily, so long as the player is confident enough in their driving skills.

4Tiger Shark
Having one of, if not the most unique design in the entire game, the Tiger Shark is truly a feast for the eyes. The mix between atiger and sharksounds like it shouldn’t work on paper, but it somehow looks absolutely incredible on this car, especially with the white pearly fangs bearing out just above the gigantic tires, and the fins at the very back end of the car.
This monster truck is also no slouch when it comes to performance, having a decent max speed and plenty of acceleration to ensure it keeps up with the competition. It also has excellent braking power which really helps with traversing awkward turns in tracks like the Arcade which tend to favor moredrift-heavy cars. This is a car that’s guaranteed to outshine its fellow racers in terms of design, and it’s more than capable of taking on every track in the game.

3Race Ace
The Race Ace is another jack-of-all-trades that can still reach some pretty high speeds when traveling on a straight road, but there’s no denyingjust how stunning it looks in regards to its design. The glossy blue and red finish with the classic Hot Wheels logo splashed over the center somehow manages to give this monster truck a touch of elegance that really throws it back to classic designs from the early 2000s.
The braking power does at least help this massive car move around tight bends and corners, and it will still be able to knock over any fellow racers who dare get close. It also has some decent boosting potential, but it’s really the retro design that makes it so special and a must-have for longtime Hot Wheels fans.

2HW Demo Derby
Monster trucks are usually known for havinga pretty grungy aesthetic, but the Demo Derby decides to instead take a much brighter and more vibrant approach to its design, not just on the body itself, but on every part of the vehicle. The body of the car almost looks like a student art project, being covered in reds, blues, and greens with a few bits of graffiti to add to the creative flare.
This isn’t all though, as the wheels also have small bits of color added to them, but what might be the most striking part of the design is the light blue suspensions which provide a stark contract to the rest of the vehicle. The car boasts some amazing acceleration for a monster truck and a decent speed, along with great braking power and an incredibly sturdy exterior that keeps it well protected. It’s undoubtedlyone of the most bright and colorful cars in the entire game, but while it looks great, this doesn’t take anything away from its performance on the track.

1Bone Shaker
Considering just how amazing the Bone Shaker monster truck looks, it would be understandable to assume that it would probably sacrifice some stats to balance it out, but it’s actually the best monster truck in the entire game, capable of reaching some staggeringly high speeds. In fact, the only area where it’s a bit of a letdown is the handling, but this really isn’t surprising considering how big and bulky the truck is.
When it comes to the design, there’s really nothing bad to say about the Bone Shaker and itsfiery punk aesthetic. The sleek red and black design mixed with the unique infrastructure of the body creates a vehicle that is essentially the monster truck equivalent of the legendary Plymouth Atomic Punk Bubbletop which has always been known as a showcar, but that’s still made a few appearances in other racing games.
The Bone Shaker really is a true work of art, and while it’s more than capable of trumping the competition in a normal race, it’s absolutely devastating in Elimination, where it can make quick work of any smaller cars.
