Summary

Once players have got their village up and running inManor Lords, it won’t be long till they can start exporting surplus goods to generate Regional Wealth. To start trading, players need to build a Trading Post and assign at least one family who will travel to trade destinations and manage the inventory. Hiring and assigning a horse to the Trading Post will also help speed up the entire process.

Practically any food, resource, or goods can be traded, and to do so, players need to select the export option on the left-hand side and then set a minimum surplus value, so that the item in question is sold until the number is reached. Some items require trade routes to be set up, which costs an upfront amount of Regional Wealth. Even when this isn’t necessary, it can be a good idea for goods that will be exported a lot, as a dedicated merchant from outside the village will transport them. In terms of thebest items to export inManor Lords, players should focus on goods that fetch a high price and are easy to produce.

Manor Lords Fishing Pond 1

Updated July 18, 2025, by Joe Grantham:As a game in Early Access, there have been manyupdates to Manor Lords, both big and small, and many more can be expected. Players now have a few different goods to produce and trade, and balance updates mean that numbers and prices have shifted. There is also a new trade screen for players to see previous transactions.

1Fish

No Process Required Other Than Catching Them

Fishponds are among the new additions toManor Lords, and like other resource nodes, they randomly spawn in different parts of the map. Players lucky enough to have one in their home region can then build Fishing Huts and assign a family to work there and catch fish.

They work similarly to the wild animals resource in the way that levels must be managed. For example, if players let their workers catch all the fish, then the stock would be depleted and they would never get any more fish. Other than that, there is nothing else to consider and no other step. This makes them ideal for exporting, as 3 Regional Wealth for a one-step process is worth the time. Of course, players should only export food if they have enough to feed their settlement, especially in winter. Speaking of winter, ponds will usually freeze over, but with a newDevelopment Point forManor Lords, fishing can continue during the colder months.

Manor Lords Cobbler’s Workshop Shoes

2Shoes

The Only Product Made Using Leather, So Players Will Have A Surplus

It’s likely that players will acquire lots of Hides even if they don’t mean to, as hunters will produce them as a bonus to more desirable Meat. Hides are then turned into Leather at the Tannery, but the only current use for Leather is making them into Shoes at the Cobbler’s Workshop.

Therefore, players will eventually end up with lots of Shoes, which will easily satisfy the requirements of higher-level villagers, helping the playermaintain a high Approval Rating. Beyond what is needed, players can export the rest and fetch quite a high price.

Manor Lords Blacksmith’s Workshop Tools

3Tools

No Current Use Other Than Trade

AsManor Lordsis in Early Access, many features are a work in progress, and thus some items currently serve no purpose other than as an export product. Tools are a good example of this, and as the only product made at the Smithy, players can manufacture lots of them to sell.

Tools are also produced at a Blacksmith’s Workshop, aBackyard Extension inManor Lords. While players will often want to make weapons here for their militia, the fact that Tools only require Iron Slabs and nothing else means players will want to manually assign them to be made, when supplies are missing for Planks. Naturally, Tools are best made in a region with a rich Iron deposit.

Manor Lords Fletcher’s Workshop

4Warbows

The Only Product Of The Fletcher’s Workshop & Sell For A Good Price

Once players have figured outhow to run the Sawpit efficiently inManor Lords, they will be able to churn out lots of Planks. These Planks have plenty of uses, especially in construction, but they can also be used to produce Warbows at the Fletcher’s Workshop. This workshop is a Backyard Extension and like other workshops, it requires the Burgage Plot to be at least level 2.

If players havea militia unit of archers, they will naturally want to provide them with enough bows, but beyond that, all Warbows can be exported at the Trading Post for a good price. As with any commodity though, players will want to watch out for the market becoming oversupplied with specific items, as the export price goes down. Therefore, sometimes it can be a good idea to hit the pause button on the Fletcher’s Workshop.

Manor Lords Communal Oven

5Bread

If The Region Has Good Fertility, Players Can Make Lots Of Surplus Bread

Not every region is good forfarming inManor Lords, but when players spawn in a location with high fertility for Wheat, they can eventually produce an exceptional amount of bread, the surplus of which can be exported for a solid price.

To produce Bread from Wheat, players will first need their farm workers to thresh the Wheat into Grain, and this Grain can then be taken to the Windmill to be turned into Flour. In terms of cooking the bread, most players will use the Communal Ovens, but dipping into the Bakeries Development Point unlocks new Backyard Extensions that are capable of cooking Bread much faster. For players interested in exporting Bread, this is definitely an upgrade they should aim for, especially as it requires the Heavy Plow to be unlocked first, which is crucial for farming large fields.

Manor Lords Rich Stone Deposit

6Any Resource From A Rich Deposit With A Deep Mine

A Deep Mine Ensures Unlimited Supply Of A Resource

In some ways, the best items to trade inManor Lordsdepend on the region players spawn in and what resources are available to them. For example, a region that has a rich Iron deposit, paired with the Deep MiningDevelopment Point, can produce infinite Iron Ore, which can be processed into Iron Slabs at the Bloomeries, and then made into all manner of items.

Players could export the Iron Slabs without any further processing, or to keep the market more balanced, they could export all the Iron products. While Stone can’t currently be made into anything, and Clay can only be made into Roof Tiles, these are nonetheless good resources to trade when the player has an unlimited supply.
