Children’s Day is a Nook Shopping seasonal event inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons.The holiday is celebrated internationally on May 5th. Themed items are available for players to buy from April 28th through May 5th, which include a carp banner and a newsprint helmet.

Flora’s House in Animal Crossing: New Horizons ACNH

There are many toys and items in the game to give islands a child-like appearance, and it’s even more enjoyable when a villager runs around with their arms extended like a kid. Characters with the play hobby can play with an airplane or run with their arms out anywhere on the island, whereas other villagers have to be in the plaza to do this. All villagers with the play hobby are perfect to be wandering a player’s island when Children’s Day rolls around.

8Flora

Florais a peppy flamingo basedon the ostrich character model. Her pink coloring, large curved beak, feathered wings and tail, and light-colored legs all enforce her flamingo appearance. Her face has a heart pattern on it, and she wears a gumdrop tee. Flora’s name isa reference to Florida, where flamingos live.

InAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, her house looks like a garden meadow, with items like multiple flamingos, a campfire, a log bench, and a radio that plays “K.K Condor”, which is likely a reference to her being a bird. It’s believed that the flamingos in her home reference that real-life flamingos live in groups, so they don’t get lonely.

Ketchup’s House in Animal Crossing: New Horizons ACNH

7Ketchup

Ketchup is a peppy duck villager. Her red color and green hair imply she’s a tomato, referring directly back to her name being a tomato product. A few other villagers aredesigned to reference food items as well, like Merengue for example.

Ketchup’s home looks like a camping potluck, with items such as a brick oven smoker, firewood, garden faucet, picnic basket, soup kettle, and water cooler. Her ivy walls and backyard lawn flooring give players the feeling of being outdoors.

Apple’s House in Animal Crossing: New Horizons ACNH

6Apple

Apple is a peppy hamster featured on the cover of K.K. Gumbo. Along withthe fruit themeof her home, her fur is a reference to the red color of an apple. The inside of her ears are green, and her underside is yellow, showing the other shades apples can come in. She wears a dotted tee and carries a candy umbrella.

Her house is nearly completely apple-themed, with an apple rug, chair, tv, and walls. Her room follows her character’s color scheme of red, green, and yellow, with the floor being white like the inside of her namesake fruit. Apple’s cute music player plays “I Love You”.

Cephalobot’s House in Animal Crossing: New Horizons ACNH

5Cephalobot

Cephalobot is an octopus and the only smug villager with the play hobby.He’s a silver robotwith glowing yellow eyes, and is made of metal plates, rivets, vents, and power outlets. His house looks futuristic, with items such as an operating-room cart, robot arm, inspection equipment, cold sleep pod, and spaceship control panel. His walls and floor are sci-fi themed and his radio plays “K.K. Robot Synth”.

Dom’s House in Animal Crossing: New Horizons ACNH

There are many references to his appearance in the translations of his name. In English and Dutch, his name alludes to cephalopods, which include octopi. His name in French is Octoborg, a combination of “octopus” and “cyborg”, and his German name is Tentatron, referring to the word “tentacle”.

4Dom

Domis a jock sheep villagerwith pink skin and horns and cream wool. He has sparkling eyes, white hooves, and wears a tie-dye tee. Because of his color and appearance, Dom is often wrongly thought to be a girl.

Like Ketchup, his house is outdoorsy, with many DIY items scattered around. His home includes a backyard-fence wall, backyard lawn flooring, as well as a lawnmower, a picnic basket, a brick oven, firewood, and a garden faucet. The place feels very much likea springtime garden.

Lucky’s House in Animal Crossing: New Horizons ACNH

Lucky is a lazy dog villager and has been in everyAnimal Crossinggame. He’s almost completely covered in bandages, with just one glowing yellow eye visible. Underneath his full-body cast is black fur. His name is based on the fact that since he’s entirely covered in bandages he’s lucky to be alive, though it’s questioned whether he’s badly injured or undead. Only two villagers that aren’t robots glow in the dark and Lucky is one of them.

Unlike an Egyptian theme in previous games, Lucky’s house inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsappears to bea graveyardwith graves. It has ramshackle wallpaper and a swamp floor, with items inside like a throwback skull radio, a skeleton, and multiple colors of western-style stones. His radio plays “K.K. Dirge”.

Bob’s House in Animal Crossing: New Horizons ACNH

Bob is a lazy cat villager. He wasthe first villager ever createdand has been in every game of theAnimal Crossingseries since. His fur is made up of various shades of purple, and he initially wears a blossom tee. His name is likely a reference to a bobcat.

Bob’s house has the full kiddies series item set, with block toys and a toy box emphasizing him being child-like. Inside his home, Bob has various wooden-block furniture, a blue playroom wall, and colorful puzzle flooring.

1Stitches

Stitches is a lazy cub villager based on a teddy bear. The patches on his body imply he’s worn out from a child playing with him. He wears a star tee, and is not technically considered an animal since he’s based on a toy.

To fit his appearance, his house is kiddie-themed, with toys littered around the room. He also has many itemsfrom the player’s momto further make the place feel like a childhood bedroom. The house includes items such as a baby bed, mom’s cushion, modeling clay, mom’s plushie, and a toy box. His cute music player plays “I Love You”.
