Baldur’s Gate 3is a game where any decision, big or small, can have great repercussions. When exploring Moonrise, the player is likely to run into Linsella, as well as her gnolls.

Who Are Barnabus and Linsella?

Where To Find Them?
To find Barnabus and Linsella,the player must first reach Act 2ofBaldur’s Gate 3. Once there, the player will have to traverse the Shadow Cursed Lands until they reach Moonrise. Upon entering Moonrise from the main entrance, the player should continue straight and then go left, where there’s a door. The player should enter the door and continue until they reach the kitchen. There, they’ll find Barnabus and Linsella, as well as other gnolls.
How To Help Barnabus
It’s clear that Barnabus is being forced to do things against his will by Linsella, so the player has the option to free him. To do that, the player must talk to Linsella. She will start by talking to the player about how she got her powers from standing before the Absolute. According to what she says, many have actually stood in front of the Absolute, but not all have come back.
Eventually, she will ask the player about what they would like to see Barnabus do, so she will demonstrate the powers that she received from the Absolute.
The player should tell her to pick or ask her to make him dance. If the player picks nothing, then they won’t get the option to save Barnabus, however, they can always go back and talk to Linsella and then choose one of the two previously given options.
When that’s done and Barnabus is forced to do a trick, he will try to resist her power, and here’s when the player can go into action. You have the option between severing her control, helping her, or simply telling her she’s not that commanding.
You should choose to sever her powers with a Wisdom throw to help out Barnabus. If successful, Barnabus will be free and will instantly kill Linsella.
However, the job is not done, as Barnabus will turn to the player with bloodlust. The player has multiple options, as they can either persuade him that they’re friends, intimidate him,use their Illithid powersto make him behave, or just attack him.
The best option here is for the player to persuade him by saying they’re a friend. If it’s successful, Barnabus will become an ally, if not, the player should prepare themselves for the worst.
Indeed, the player might just need to fight Barnabus, as well as the other two gnolls that were under Linsella’s control before she was killed. If it comes down to that, the fight shouldn’t be a huge trouble, however, the wasted opportunity of new allies is the worst consequence.
What Loot Linsella Will Have On
The player will not even have to lift a finger when it comes to Linsella, since Barnabus will take care of her after he’s freed. However, the player should most certainly loot her body since she has an extremely useful item with her.
When it comes to looting her, here’s what the player will find:

•Mind Flayer Parasite Specimen
Of course, what’s truly valuable here is the mind Flayer Parasite Specimen. With that in hand, the player could unlock some incredible new abilities. The player will, in fact, find many Mind Flayer Parasite specimens in Moonrise, thanks to the number of true souls present there.
Barnabus Coming To The Player’s Aid Later
Later on,when the player attacks Moonrisewith the help of Jaheira and the Harpers, they’ll have one more group of allies with them, that is, Barnabus and the other Gnolls. Indeed, Barnabus will attack enemies for the player and will be a great aid in taking down the archers that are positioned high.
