Let’s face it, no matter how well-equipped aBaldur’s Gate 3party is and how well-thought-out their battle strategy may be, sometimes things happen, and characters die. There are numerous ways to bring a fallen ally back into the fight, and the method with the least restriction that can be used during battle is by usingScroll of Revivify.
These single-use consumable scrolls can be used mid-battle torevive a fallen allyonce they have truly departed the mortal plane. This can happen when a felled character fails all three Death Saving Throws and does not receive a helping hand from one of their party mates. Shame.

If the player has a Paladin or a Cleric in their party, at level five, they can learnRevivifyand use this spell to resurrect dead party members. However, if these classes are absent, the player will need to rely onScrolls of Revivifyfor in-combat resurrection of their fallen allies. Here’s how players can get their hands on more Scrolls of Revivify inBaldur’s Gate 3.
How to get Scroll of Revivify in BG3
Unfortunately, opportunities to obtain moreScrolls of Revivifymay be few and far between, depending on where the player’s adventure takes them. Thankfully, it’s generally not too difficult to avoid a character’s death in battle, as players can use the Help command to assist a fallen enemy, once they are in melee range, pulling the character to their feet with just 1 hit point.
Depending on how that character died, it’s extremely important to heal them as soon as possible. Characters which have died due toan environmental effect, like standing in the fire, will be subject to any damage it causes on their next turn if they are not healed or relocated prior, causing them to hit the floor once more.
There are just a handful of ways players can obtainScroll of RevivifyinBaldur’s Gate 3. The character starts their adventure with a single scroll in their inventory, and each new companion will carry one when they join up with the party. The player can obtain more scrolls through the following methods.
Buy From Merchants
A reliable method of getting more Scroll of Revivify is to simplypurchase them from merchantswhen available. However, this can be quite costly and there are, frankly, better uses of the player’s gold. Nevertheless, if the player finds their adventure going pretty rocky and has an abundance of gold, they should regularly check in with merchants to see if they have a Scroll of Revivify available for purchase. Having a character with high Charisma deal with the merchant will result in a lower price.

Steal from Merchants
Alternatively, the player can attempt to steal the Scroll of Revivify from the merchant usingthe Pickpocket ability. Scrolls are one of the easier items to steal, but there are numerous checks the character attempting must pass in order to succeed. The player should split the potential thief from their party to avoid being seen.
That character should then use the Hide ability and carefully approach the merchant, requiring them topass a Stealth Checkto ensure they are not seen. Once they have reached their target and have started rifling through their pockets, they are required to pass another skill check for each item they attempt to steal.
Items in an NPC’s inventory have different difficulties based on the quality and rarity of the item, which is shown when mousing over that item. The player must roll a die and roll higher than the item’s presented difficulty number in order to succeed. It’s important to use acharacter with high Dexterity and Sleight of Hand modifiersto ensure they can pass this challenge.
Loot Withers’ Hirelings
The easiest way to resurrect party members after a battle has concluded is to headback to the Campand speak withWithers, the lovely undead gentleman welcomed byopening the Dank Crypt sarcophagus. Withers will offer to resurrect the deceased party member for200 gold. Depending on the character’s Charisma and relationship with merchants, while this may be a better deal than purchasing Scroll of Revivify, it can only be done once a battle has ended and the player has returned to the camp.

However, the player can partake in a bit of trickery in order to obtain Scroll of Revivify throughWithers' services. Once he has joined the player’s camp, Withers offers the player the opportunity torecruit new party members calledHirelings,to join the player’s party for a mere100 gold. The player will need to make room in their party to accommodate this new ally, but the hireling can be dismissed and that party slot freed up simply by speaking with Withers again.
These Hirelings come equipped with the standard assortment of “starter” items for each playable character, including asingle Scroll of Revivify. There are a total of 12 different Hirelings the player can employ, each with a Scroll of Revivify in their backpack that is ripe for the taking. However, the items are available only the first time a Hireling is hired, so the player can only obtain up to12 Scroll of Revivifyusing this method.

Players will likely never get a Scroll of Revivify at better deal than 100 gold, other than by stealing it, and nothing truly of value is lost by taking it from the Hireling. If necessary, the player can re-invite a Hireling to their party, again at the cost of 100 gold. A rehired Hireling will simply no longer have the small assortment of starter items including the keyring,Alchemy Pouch, and backpack. They’ll still be able to carry items that would go in those containers, so it’s not really a big deal.
