Summary
A creativeAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsplayer creates a series of images depicting a few of the villagers as human beings. These humanized images are some of the most imaginative pieces of fan art in theAnimal Crossing: New Horizonscommunity.
When it comes to thevillagers inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, most fans don’t treat them like random NPCs in other games. ForAnimal Crossingfans, the villagers in the game are more like friends. It may seem corny, but after interacting with the same villagers for hours every day, players often connect with their quirks and personalities to the point where each villager feels like a real person. Reddit user MurlaTart took this concept to a whole new level by creating fan art that shows what four different villagers would look like if they were actually human.

The first image is theAnimal Crossingvillager Merry, a cat character with a bright and friendly personality. Merry has a peppy personality with an upbeat attitude, and her human version showcases this as well. Both Merry and her human rendition have the same eyelashes, pointy ears, and fang-like teeth. The second image shows Teddy and his human version. Teddy is a jock-type villager who’s mostly into sports, fishing, and fossil hunting, and he’s always ready to challenge the player to a foot race. Both Teddy and his human rendition sport the same preppy-looking shirt and a big, confident smile.
The third image showcases theAnimal Crossingvillager Annalisaand her human version. Annalisa is a snooty villager known for making snarky remakes and being critical of others. Annalisa often talks about fashion, gossip, fine art and her refined taste. Annalisa’s human rendition captures her snooty-ness perfectly, and she looks like she just returned from a prestigious art gallery. MurlaTart was also nice enough not to add a super long nose to the human version, which would be accurate but unsightly. The last image is of the fan-favorite villager Sprinkle and her human rendition. Sprinkle is always full of energy and has a peppy personality, and she loves making new friends and chatting with the player. The human version in the image captures Sprinkle’s look right down to the yellow boots.
The comments for MurlaTart’s fan art are overwhelmingly positive, with some of them suggesting other characters to be humanized, like Kiki, Tutu, Maple, andAnimal Crossing’s bug collector Flick. Out of the four images, Annalisa’s human rendition seems to be getting the most praise, with one commenter saying that the style choice blew them away.
