For many,Twitchis an entertaining platform where viewers can watch their favorite personalities stream games or just chat with their fans. However, with Twitch being a livestreaming service, things can go wrong, especially for popular streamers on the platform. This can lead to extreme cases of some viewers calling in a swat raid on a certain streamer, which can sometimes lead to the scary scenario of a personality’s live feed being interrupted by angry, armed police. Recently,YouTube streamer iShowSpeed was swatted, with the teenager even being handcuffed on camera.Adin Ross is the latest big Twitch personality to join the roster of streamers who have been swatted. Ross has not had the best history with Twitch, being indefinitely banned from the platform back in April for alleged use of hateful slurs or symbols in his streams. However, as of June this year,Adin Ross returned to Twitchand has seen a boom in viewership since then. This latest swatting case marks another concerning event for the popular streamer, with him coming dangerously close to arrest.RELATED:Twitch Unbans Adin RossIn a clip from Adin Ross’Twitchstream, viewers can see that the streamer isn’t present within the view of his webcam, but soon a police officer wielding a pistol walks into frame. A few more armed officers then follow, appearing to search the house for something. Finally, Ross returns to his desk to announce that he is ending the stream. He then appears to speak to his viewership, saying, “Whatever troll did it, you did it.”
As Ross is smiling while he calls out the troll who swatted him, it seems as though he isn’t too shaken up by the appearance of armed police at his house. He also states that “it’s never happening again,” presumably referring to the swatting. While being swatted does seem like a crazy event, it isn’t unheard of for a popular streamer to have their house raided by armed police. As stated, iShowSpeed was also swatted very recently, and this year other streamers have had police show up at their house, with oneTwitch personality being raided during a charity stream.
Adin Ross has been previously swatted before, but this took place in 2021 during a fan meetup. However, on that occasion, it was revealed that the police were fake. Ross has emerged as one of thebiggest streamers on Twitchin recent years, so it is possible that he could face a similar situation in the future, despite his claim that it will never happen again. With so many viewers watching his streams, it is possible one of them will try and get him swatted down the line.
