The teaser trailer could be hinting at a sequel, an updated version ofSlender: The Arrivalfor next-gen consoles, or a full remake of the game. At the same time, there doesn’t seem to be much to decipher about the ominous countdown on the website, as it simply shows the titular character - who is viewed as the epitomeof the “Blank” trope in horror- being surrounded by flames. Blue Isle Studios certainly looks to have some neat surprises in store for Slender Man fans in the coming days, but whether it is hinting at a full-on sequel, a port, or a remake remains to be seen.
With the way games likeResident Evil 4,Silent Hill 2, andDead Spacehave been getting remakes, a remake ofSlender: The Arrivalwould fit perfectly in this new era of horror, which has also brought fresh experiences such asThe Outlast TrialsandAmnesia: The Bunker.
