While some of the most iconic characters in the franchise wield weaponry such as swords, the series is filled to the brim with potent magic users. Offensive magic comes in numerous forms such as elemental anima magic and light magic. Magic units have a great deal of appeal, as they can easily subvertthe defenses of bulky armored units.

While offensive light magic has been rebranded as an extension of Faith magic inFire Emblem: Three Houses, it is characteristically much the same. Which characters are the strongest light magic wielders from across theFire Emblemfranchise?
10Yoder – The Binding Blade
Though Yoder is one of the last units recruited inFire Emblem: The Binding Blade,his low availability doesn’t stop him from being one of the best light magic wielders in the game.
Joining with an S rank in staves and an A rank in light magic, Yoder is one of the few units in the game who is immediately capable of wielding the majority of light tomes. This is especially noteworthy as due to the absence of the Monk class, very few units inThe Binding Bladeare capable of wielding light magic.
9Rhys – Path Of Radiance
Rhys is the first healer available to players inPath of Radianceand has quite exceptional availability. While he joins a player’s army as a cleric, unable to contribute to combat, upon promoting into a bishop, he gains access to light magic.
Due to his 60% magic growth, by the time Rhys has been promoted and is able to attack with light magic, his damage output will be quite serviceable. He will be able to contribute offensively when he’s not patching up his allies.
8Micaiah – Radiant Dawn
Unlike the vast majority ofFire Emblemprotagonists that wield swords, Micaiah ofRadiant Dawnis one of the few protagonists in the series that specializes in magical attacks; namely, light magic. Available from the very first chapter ofRadiant Dawn, while Micaiah is perhaps the most fragile protagonist in the series, her consistent access to ranged attacks should not be understated.

Additionally, Micaiah has extra utility in the form of her sacrifice ability which allows her to transfer her HP to damaged allies.
7Artur – The Sacred Stones
Artur is a monk who joins a player’s army in Chapter Four ofThe Sacred Stones.Joining as a level two monk with iffy base stats but solid growth rates, he is one of the most widely available magic units inThe Sacred Stones.
While Artur’s base stats are by no means perfect, they are enough to allow him to double enemies in his joining chapter. Artur immediately contributes to combat and easily earns himself some experience.
6Yuri – Three Houses
Yuri is the leader of the Ashen Wolves and a student available in the Cindered Shadows ofThree Houses.Geared towards the Trickster class, Yuri totes an excellent list of Faith spells.
Learning Nosferatu and Aura, Yuri is capable of weaponizing his magic, whilst also making use of physical offense as well. Consequently, Yuri is a notably versatile and flexible unit with speed on his side and solid offensive capabilities.
5Lucius – The Blazing Blade
Appearing in each route ofThe Blazing Blade, Lucius is a Monk who is recruited in Chapter Seven of Lyn’s route, Chapter Sixteen of Eliwood’s route, and Chapter Seventeen of Hector’s route.

With standout growth rates in magic and resistance, Lucius is an excellent choice for a magical damage dealer. Additionally, as Lucius gains access to staves upon promoting into a Bishop, his utility only grows with time.
4Marianne – Three Houses
When it comes to support units inThree Houses, it’s hard to compare with the sheer utility of Marianne. With a robust spell list that features both Physic and Silence, Marianne comes with a solid magic growth that allows her to get the most of these spells.
In addition to her support utility, Marianne learns Nosferatu and Aura, allowing her to utilize a high Faith rank offensively.
3Annette – Three Houses
Like Marianne,Annette is one of the standout support units ofThree Houses, toting unique utility in the form of her many Rally abilities. Though Annette is often noted for her offensive capabilities with reason magic, she also has a worthwhile arsenal of faith spells featuring the excellent healing spell, Recover.
However, Annette’s access to one of the strongest offensive faith spells, Abraxas, paired with her one-of-a-kind utility makes her one of the best light magic users inFire Emblemhistory.
2Lysithea – Three Houses
While Faith is most commonly viewed as the source of healing and support spells inThree Houses,Lysithea is a unit who learns more damaging spells through Faith than she does support spells. Only learning the support spells Heal and Warp, Lysithea learns Nosferatu, Seraphim, and even the highly potent Abraxas.
Though Lysithea is most commonly regarded for her stellar utility as a wielder of Reason magic, she is one of the few units who are capable of consistently dishing out great damage through Faith magic.
1Saleh – The Sacred Stones
Saleh is a pre-promoted Sage who appears inFire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, notably joining a player’s army in Chapter Twelve of Eirika’s route. While Sages traditionally wield Anima Magic and Staves across theFire Emblemseries, inThe Sacred Stones, Sages are also can also wield light magic. Due to this added weapon type, Saleh joins a player’s army with a B rank, the highest starting light magic weapon rank of any character in the game.
This allows Saleh to wield powerful light spells more easily than any other unit. While Saleh isn’t often known for his light magic use, between his impressive base stats and high light magic rank, few other users compare with him.
